Abstract

This research is a descriptive qualitative research by describing in depth about the prosocial point of view in the death rituals of Muslims in Java. The results of this study are the prosocial behavior of the Javanese community in traditional rituals of death manifesting in feelings of empathy, providing moral support to the bereaved family, respecting the deceased by praying, and helping financially and physically when performing rituals such as selametan. So it can be seen that Muslim death rituals in Java contain prosocial behavior that must be preserved.
