Abstract
Background: The sport horse industry is growing exponentially worldwide. Alongside this there is an increasing demand for veterinary prepurchase examinations. It's important for all equine veterinarians to be familiar with how to perform these examinations in order to best advise their clients.Aim of the article: This article is primarily intended to assist British veterinarians perform prepurchase examinations (PPEs) of sport horses. The information provided here is based on our experience and opinions. Veterinarians must have comprehensive understanding of the British Equine Veterinary Association's and RCVS's guidance notes on this topic before undertaking PPEs.
