Abstract

Wireless digital communications, and especially spread spectrum communications, have become of great interest lately. In this paper a performance study of a direct sequence spread spectrum (DS-SS) communications system for high data rates is presented, using for simulations the Matlab simulation medium. The performances of the system are expressed through comparisons of the bit error rates (BER) obtained for different parameters of the signal, channel model and implementation of the receiver. A special type of reception diversity, called RAKE, is presented and its implementation fits reconfigurable hardware.
