Abstract
The performance of a new trellis decoding method of block codes based on the generalized array codes (GAG) structure is studied over a Rayleigh fading channel in this paper and further researches are also carried out to introduce this maximum-likelihood decoding method to image transmission systems. Results show that this decoding technique adapts to Rayleigh fading channel successfully and can bring significant performance improvement to image transmission systems over mobile fading channel with rather low decoding complexity.
