Abstract

In next-generation communication systems, higher transmission capacity through a wireless channel and high data rate, are essential for researchers. The growing demand for higher data rates, more dependable quality of services is leading to the use of Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) transmission, and phased array techniques in wireless communication. We present a comprehensive investigation of these two techniques applied on the filter bank-based multicarrier using offset quadrature amplitude modulation (FBMC-OQAM), where the Bit Error Rate (BER) and capacity performance results are provided. In this paper, we propose the use of a lattice reduction (LR) equalization to enhance the performance of both MIMO and phased array techniques.
