Abstract
Clutter returns for high resolution radars can be modelled by the long tail log-normal distribution. The performance of a constant false-alarm rate (CFAR) processor based on ordered statistics of the reference cells is analysed for a log-normal clutter distribution. Numerical results show that the excessive loss can be decreased by increasing the number of reference cells. >
