Abstract

Data on internet users continue to increase. For this reason, a reliable network is needed, one of which uses a redundancy gateway protocol. This research will do the measurement of the three redundancy gateway protocols, namely Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP), Hot Standby Routing Protocol (HSRP) and Gateway Load Balancing Protocol (GLBP). In addition to reliability, performance is also one of the factors that affect the quality of the internet network. Technology is needed to support performance on the internet network such as Etherchannel technology. There are two etherchannel protocols, namely Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) and Port Aggregation Protocol (PAgP). To find out the performance of the combination of these protocols on a network, a study is needed. The research was conducted by measuring several scenarios using the FTP protocol on a VLAN network which resulted in the Quality-of-Service parameter values, namely Throughput, Delay and Packet Loss. The combination of GLBP and PAGP protocols is better in Throughput and delay values in normal and failover conditions, but has a packet loss value that is slightly not better than other combinations in several scenarios.
