Abstract

Recently, Bluetooth low energy (BLE) is widely used for short-range communication among wireless devices. The challenge of utilizing BLE in indoor localization is the characteristic of the observation area where multipath fading, shadowing, interference, and reflection of signal would appear. This paper proposed a new approach of evaluating the performance of wireless device communication system using BLE module in an indoor environment in term of estimating the position of the device using localization technique. Linear Regression method is used to refine the modeling distance parameter which measured previously. The simulation result shows that combining Linear Regression and Lognormal shadowing method for distance modeling will enhance the accuracy up to 99%.
