Abstract

This research paper analyzes the performance of organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) using state of art industry standard Atlas 2-D numerical device simulator for different structures. The basic electrical characteristics of OLEDs are analyzed and parameters extraction is carried out. Besides this, comparison between the performance of monolayer, bilayer and multilayer organic light emitting diodes is made. Comparisons are performed in organic layers while keeping all structural dimensions and material properties same. By the introduction of additional layers enhanced current density and luminous efficiency is achieved, that has proved to be beneficial. The turnon voltage of 7.2 V is achieved. The simulated results is quantitatively explain the good performance, where, performance in multilayered OLED structure is obtained significantly much higher in comparison to monolayer and bilayer counterparts.
