Abstract

In this brief paper, we investigate selection combining (SC) technique, as one of the most efficient for upgrading transmission reliability and increasing channel capacity. Namely, dual SC diversity system operating over correlated Rician fading channels in the presence of Rayleigh cochannel interference (CCI) is studied. Desired signal power algorithm is explored by virtue of average bit error probability (ABEP), outage probability and average signal–to–interference ratio (SIR) at the output of the receiver. Presented numerical results aims to show effects of fading severity and level of correlation on considered performance metrics. Moreover, they are used for performance comparison of dual SC receivers applying two different decision algorithms, desired and SIR power algorithm, presenting the most significant contribution of this paper.
