Abstract

Using the probability density function(PDF) of the output signal to noise ratio (SNR) the average bit error probability (ABEP) and outage probability are analyzed for an arbitrary equal gain combining (EGC) receiver with phase estimation error and Co-channel interference(CCI). The desired and interfering signals are considered as Nakagami-m distributed. PDF of the EGC output signal to noise ratio(SNR) of an arbitrary EGC receiver considering phase estimation error is derived. Using this PDF, the derivation is extended to find the PDF of the antenna array output signal to interference plus noise ratio, considering both carrier phase error and CCI. Applying the direct method, using PDF, the expressions for ABEP and outage probability are obtained considering phase estimation error alone and considering both phase estimation error and CCI. Numerical and simulation results for different degrees of phase errors and various parameters of CCI is presented.
