Abstract
In 5G wireless communication, the deployment of ultra-dense base station network is a significant measure. As two key technologies, base station (BS) cooperative transmission and base station on/off technology can improve system performance and reduce the energy consumption. In this paper, a Joint base station Cooperative Transmission and base station On/off (JCTO) algorithm is designed. By implementing the scheme, edge users can be served by the neighboring BSs participating in the cooperative transmission. Especially, if the number of single user in a cell is small and the channels of adjacent BSs are idle, all the single users in this cell can be served by the neighboring BSs. The BS covering these users can be closed to reduce energy consumption. Moreover, the parameters of 5G network are used to verify the performance of the JCTO scheme by program simulations. By analyzing the simulation results, the validity of the JCTO scheme can be confirmed under the 5G scenario.
