Abstract

A series of performance evaluation on various combinations of fossil fuel systems with CO2 capture, transportation, and sequestration has been carried out. The results have been recognized as a basis for subsequent specific studies in Japan and referred to during the formation of R&D projects. However, the recent trend in electricity market in Japan and technological development make it necessary to update some of the data used in the studies in order for the CO2 capture and sequestration technologies to be assessed appropriately in the decision making processes under the present condition.
