Abstract

Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) is an important element of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). Vehicular ad hoc network is an independent system of vehicular nodes connected by wireless links in which transmission takes place through different routes. In this paper, we design the city environment VANET network with WiMAX by using Multiple Inputs Multiple Outputs (MIMO) and Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) techniques. The routing protocols are categorized into two parts reactive (ondemand) and proactive (Table driven). The algorithms we considered are AODV, AOMDV, DSR and DSDV. Here the performance analysis of designed city environment VANET network with above routing protocols on various qualities of service parameters such as throughput, jitter, delay. Packet delivery ratio and packet loss ratio are compared. This paper presents the effect of on-demand and Table driven routing protocols on VANET system.
