Abstract
In this paper, we obtain the bit error rate performance of pulses that can be applied to ultra-wideband (UWB) communication systems. We employ the Nyquist criterion for the design of band-limited signals for no inter-pulse interference, The roll-off factor is applied to the UWB emission power mask. We obtain the bit error rate for the different pulses that satisfy the UWB emission power mask. We show that the bit error rate performance as a function of roll-off factor. We employ the time hopping (TH) pulse position modulation (PPM) UWB system with repetition code.
