Abstract

This paper presents the analysis of different configurations of stator winding in a 6/4 Switched Reluctance Motor to achieve higher torque and efficiency. An attempt is made to compare double layer winding with single layer winding for the same structural design and different levels of saturation is studied with respect to the magnetic circuit. Motor models are created in ANSYS Maxwell software, flux path are analyzed by finite element method for different stator windings configuration. Simulation results of output torque and efficiency are presented. Total losses in the Double layer winding are less compared to Single layer winding.
