Abstract

Long term evolution (LTE) in the run to sustain the ongoing traffic explosion have paved way for the 5G (fifth generation) wireless communications which envision magnitudes of increase in wireless data rates, bandwidth, coverage and connectivity. Cooperative communication which is an enabling technology for the 5G has lead to further requirement of Quadrature Spatial Modulation (QSM). It will give better diversity leading to reduction in error rate. QSM is a recent digital MIMO transmission technique that improves the spectral efficiency and enhances the reliability of communication. In QSM system, Inter Channel Interference (ICI) is also avoided entirely since the two transmitted data are orthogonal and modulated on the real and imaginary parts of the carrier signals. The objective of the work is to implement the recent QSM in a cooperative system. A cooperative multiple Amplify and Forward (AF) relaying system over QSM technique is proposed. The proposed QSM outperforms the existing spatial modulation (SM) technique in terms of spectral efficiency and error rate.
