Abstract

A novel space signal diversity (SSD) based quadrature spatial modulation (QSM) scheme is proposed in this paper, which can enhance the QSM system performance via the transmit diversity and modulation diversity brought by SSD. The design principle of the SSD based QSM scheme is illustrated first. Then, the corresponding signal processing of the proposed scheme has been given. Simulation results about the average bit error rate (BER) performance show that the proposed SSD based QSM system outperforms the other conventional spatial modulation (SM) schemes, such as typical SM, QSM, and diversity-enhanced SM schemes. Meanwhile, we also investigate the influence of the rotation angle of the proposed SSD based QSM scheme on the system performance.
