Abstract

Controlling the temperature of chemical reactors, heating furnaces, distillation towers and heating circulation fluid in reboiler are important processes in all industrials. In this study, the modern control method (PID-CASCADE) was used to control the temperature of the system with multivariable inputs and compare the results with conventional methods such as (PID). The simulation of the PID and cascade controllers were designed by using MATLAB SIMULINK. Results showed that the cascade controller with the PI-controller in the secondary loop gives better performance by reducing time to reach a steady-state of about 50% and eliminate the oscillation 100% compared to PID and PI controllers.
