Abstract

Abstract The main objective of this paper is to study the performance analysis of a Brushless DC (BLDC) motor supplying different types of loads, and at the same time, deploying different control techniques. A Fuzzy controller is compared with the commonly used conventional controllers. The controller is designed to track variations of speed references and to stabilize the output speed during load variations. A comparison has been carried out by observing the dynamic speed response of motor at the time of application as well as at the time of removal of the load. Here it is proposed that the better result can be obtained during gradual load variation as compared against the sudden variation of load irrespective of the different types of controller. This project work is carried to design a DC motor speed control system by fuzzy logic and to compare the results with conventional PI and PID controllers. The speed control of a DC motor is performed in a closed-loop control system with conventional controllers with Fuzzy. During the load variation, the controller is assigned to maintain the speed at desired level. The MATLAB-Simulink is used to verify the effectiveness of proposed scheme, wherein the conventional controllers are not much effective.
