Abstract
Vehicular adhoc network (VANET) is a kind of mobile adhoc network (MANET) which integrates wireless connectivity to accelerate data transfer between vehicles as well as between roadside equipment and available traffic in network. In VANET, routing protocols play an important role in terms of the performance because they determine the way of sending and receiving packets between vehicular mobile nodes. In this paper we design the vehicular adhoc network using DSDV and DSR protocol for the WiMAX network with city base environment. The main objectives of our research work are to increase the security of the network and to compare the result of packet delivery ratio, packet loss ratio and throughput of the network. In addition to communication among the vehicles, VANET interface with communication points is provided by on-road infrastructure. Thus we propose that the design of a city environment VANET network with MAC 802.16e by using different routing protocol with two key strategies which are multiple input and multiple output technology (MIMO) and adaptive modulation coding (AMC). Combining these gives the significantly enhanced data rate and maximum throughput with high efficiency in wireless network.
