Abstract

This study evaluates the profile of adopters of integration systems in the state of São Paulo. The sample comprises 175 farmers of which 66 are adopters of the crop-livestock integration system (CLI), 24 adopters of the forestry-livestock integration system (FLI) and 85 non-adopters. The multiple correspondence analysis identified the adopters of CLI are associated with greater experience with agriculture, greater farms, more robust machinery structure, more employees, access to credit, as well as greater access to technical information through participation on agricultural events and rural extension services. Within the FLI adopters, it is highlighted the predominance of small farms.
