Abstract
It is known that different factors affects the individual’s perception of body image. In the specific case of adolescents fashion models, it can be considered that their body are their main worry. In this context, the present study aims to investigate psychological aspects related to the perception of body image of adolescents who work as professional fashion models. It presents two case studies analyzed in a psychoanalytical perspective. Data were collected by the application of the test FID (Drawing of the Human Figure), Machover, and a semi-directed individual interview with two adolescents, 16 years old, that work in a fashion model’s agency in the ABC area, in Sao Paulo. Data analysis revealed conflicting feelings related to their bodies, as self-depreciation, insecurity and difficulties in social contact. It can also be observed a state of ego weakness and different strategies to deal with adolescent’s sexual conflicts.
