Abstract

A survey of members of the International Association of Women Police examined perceptions of utilization and job satisfaction. The analysis of responses reveals a significant correlation between utilization and job satisfaction even though the Spearman's was not strong, .38. Job utilization also correlated significantly with the number of different assignments held, the number of tactical units to which they have been assigned, and the rank of the respondent. Not only utilization, but opportunities for utilization correlate significantly with job satisfaction assignments and for special training correlate with job satisfaction. Equal opportunity for special assignments and for special training also correlate with job satisfaction.
