Abstract

The development of information technology has had a significant impact on libraries as a source of information in higher education institutions. An issue was identified in the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) system, where the shelf availability status of books was not provided, resulting in users spending ineffective time searching for the required books. In an effort to improve service efficiency and quality, the Library designed a book ordering service as a solution to meet user needs in accessing the required information sources. This study aims to design an effective information system for the process of borrowing books at the library. The design process includes analyzing user requirements, designing information systems, developing user-friendly interfaces, and implementing systems accordingly. Through the implementation of this book ordering service, it is expected that the Library can improve the quality of its services to better serve its users.
