Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the role of work motivation in mediating the effect of transformational leadership on employee performance. This research was conducted at Samabe Bali Suites & Villas. The number of samples taken was 65 employees, with the method used was the saturated sample method. Data collection is done through interviews and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques used are path analysis (path analysis) and multiple analysis. Based on the results of the analysis found that transformational leadership has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. This shows that the better the transformational leadership carried out by the leader the employee's performance will increase as well. Transformational leadership has a significant positive effect on employee work motivation, this means the better leadership of a leader will increase employee motivation. Work motivation has a significant positive effect on employee performance, this shows that the better the work motivation provided, the better the employee's performance increases. Work motivation is positive and significant in mediating the effect of transformational leadership on employee performance.

Dari jumlah karyawan sebanyak 65 orang terdapat 10 jabatan yang ada di Samabe Bali Suites & Villas yaitu Exevutive Housekeeping sebanyak 1 orang, Assistant Executive Housekeeping sebanyak 1 orang, Pool & Beach Manager sebanyak 1 orang, Landscape Manager sebanyak 1 orang, Housekeeping Supervisor sebanyak 9 orang, Pool Attendant sebanyak 10 orang, Housekeeping Attendant sebanyak 26 orang, Public Attendant sebanyak 5 orang, Linen Attendant sebanyak 4 orang dan Gardener sebanyak 7 orang. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis jalur (path analysis). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan terhadap karyawan di Samabe Bali Suites & Villas dapat diketahui karakteristik respondennya meliputi jenis kelamin, usia dan pendidikan terakhir. Data jenis kelamin responden berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan dapat dilihat pada Tabel 2
