Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the role of work motivation in mediating the effect of compensation on spirit at work. The results of this study found that compensation has a positive and significant effect on spirit at work, compensation has a positive and significant effect on work motivation, work motivation has a positive and significant effect on spirit at work, and the role of work motivation is positively and significantly mediates the effect of compensation on spirit at work. This research was conducted at Pertiwi Bisma Hotel 2 Ubud. The number of samples used is as many as 38 employees, with a saturated sample method where all the population numbers are used as respondents. Data collection is obtained from questionnaires. Data analysis used in this study is path analysis and sobel test.

Introduction

The purpose of this study was to determine the role of work motivation in mediating the effect of compensation on spirit at work. Berdasarkan hasil Uji Sobel pada Tabel 12 menunjukkan bahwa hasil tabulasi Z = 2,9244 > 1,96 dengan tingkat signifikansi 0,0035 < 0,05 yang berarti variabel mediator yakni motivasi kerja dinilai secara signifikan memediasi hubungan antara kompensasi terhadap semangat kerja.
