These problems caused by a lack of iron in the body. Jamu has the potential as an alternative medication to overcome the problems of iron deficiency anemia. Objective. This study aims to determine the change of subject parameters with anemia given Jamu as a medication of iron deficiency anemia. Methods. This study used a quasi-experimental design of pre and post-test design. A total of 35 subjects involved for 28 days intervention. Jamu formula consisting of 5 grams of Amaranthus tricolor leaves, 10 grams of Elephantopus scaber herbs and 15 grams of Curcuma xanthorrhiza rhizomes. Efficacy of Jamu assessed from changes of Hb, serum ferritin, TIBC values. Safety of Jamu evaluated with changes levels of ALT, AST, urea, and creatinine before and after the intervention. Results. An increase of Hb values were significant (p= 0.000) until 11.09 μ/L at day 28. Ferritin, MCV, MCH increased significantly (p= 0.000) at day 28. TIBC value at 336.51 μ/L indicated that there is a significant alteration (p= 0.000) at day 28. Value of ALT (18,77 μ/L) and AST (18,89 μ/L) subjects at day 28 still in the normal range. Value of ureum (22,90 μ/L) and creatinine (0,75 μ/L) on day 28 still at the normal value. Conclusion. Jamu can increase the value of Hb, MCV, MCH, and ferritin patients at Saintifikasi Jamu Clinic.
