Abstract

Innovative learning models are needed in social studies learning. Learning becomes interesting so that it can increase the creativity and learning outcomes of students. One of the innovative learning models is the Mind Mapping learning model. This study aims to determine the increase in creativity and learning outcomes of Class VI elementary school students. This type of research is classroom action research. The research was conducted in three cycles, each cycle three times meeting through the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were students of class VI SD Negeri Nglaris Bener Purworejo with a total of 11 students consisting of 6 male students and 5 female students. Data collection techniques in this study used observation and written tests. The data analysis technique in this study used descriptive qualitative analysis techniques on the results of observations and quantitative analysis techniques on student learning outcomes. Based on the research results, it is known that the application of the mind mapping learning model can increase the creativity of social studies learning, namely in the pre-cycle 9.09%, the first cycle 9.09%, the second cycle 36.36%, and the third cycle 90.91%. The application of the mind mapping learning model can improve social studies learning outcomes, namely in the pre-cycle 9.09%, the first cycle 54.55%, the second cycle 72.73%, and the third cycle 81.82%.
