Abstract
This aim of this study is to determine the improvement of students' mathematical communication skills through tutoring in mathematics for Grade-8 of MTsN 2 Banda Aceh whose parents rarely communicate with the school. This research is a case study as a method of qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were teacher, the second class of Grade-8 students of MTsN 2 Banda Aceh who were determined based on the results of the initial test. Two students who get the lowest scores with parents who were less able to direct their children to communicate to the school as well as at home as the subjects, and the parents of both students. Data collection methods in this study were observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study show that mathematical communication skills of the students are increased in many ways as the tutorial guided them. So, it can be concluded that t he tutorial significantly contribute to the improvement of students' mathematical communication skills.
