Abstract

Elderly or elderly is someone who is over 55 years old. Elderly people experience various changes both physically, mentally and socially. The elderly are vulnerable to degenerative diseases or non-communicable diseases (NCDs). The high prevalence of NCDs in Indonesia is caused by an unhealthy lifestyle. Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) data for 2018 shows that 95.5% of Indonesian people do not consume enough vegetables and fruit. Controlling PTM is important to prevent death. This community service activity was carried out in Gentan Village, Susukan District, Semarang Regency where some elderly people experienced hypertension, diabetes mellitus, cholesterol and uric acid (gout). The aim of this empowerment is to improve the health status and knowledge of the community regarding diet, especially the elderly, through complete and free health examinations. The activity method is carried out by observation, interviews and documentation. The results of community service showed that the number of respondents with uric acid levels above normal were mostly men, with cholesterol, blood sugar levels and blood pressure above normal mostly suffered by women. When nutrition education is taking place, seniors can answer questions given by the resource person as a post-test, and can repeat the results of the material presentation
