Abstract

Education in Indonesia is intensified by a program issued by the government regarding strengthening character education (PPK) which through this program is expected to shape the character of the nation's generation. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of strengthening religious character through Islamic school culture at muhammadiyah 9 Ngaban elementary school. The method used in this research is a phenomenological method with a qualitative approach in which the researcher is directly involved in this research. Data collection in this study is through observation, interviews and documentation. To test the validity of the data after the data is obtained, the researcher cross-checks the data using source triangulation, where the researcher will compare data with different data sources. The results showed that the forms of activities carried out by schools in building students' religious character at Muhammadiyah 9 ngaban Elementary School are through understanding, exemplary and habituation. Supporting factors in the implementation of Islamic activities created by schools include teachers and school residents, support from parents and infrastructure. While the inhibiting factor is the lack of awareness from students and the environment around students.
