Abstract

Agricultural tourism is a practice of agricultural cultivation in a farmer's neighbourhood by adopting tourism services. The purposes of this community service are to describe (1) the socio-economic conditions of the durian farmers in Sumberagung Village, (2) the managerial competence of durian farmers in Sumberagung Village, and (3) the competence of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) of durian farmers. Ngantang district is used as a community service location because it is one of the famous durian producers in Malang. The community service is focused in Sumberagung Village because the local farmers are fostered by the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Brawijaya and there are also many new durian varieties that are researched by lecturers and students of Universitas Brawijaya. The results of this community service are (1) the socio-economy of durian farming can be improved through the development of durian agricultural tourism, (2) some durian farmers have managerial competence so that they can be used as opinion leaders in developing durian agricultural tourism, and (3) with the competence of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) owned by the durian farmers, they can plan durian agricultural tourism.
