Abstract

This study aims to determine the development of teacher professionalism in MTsN 1 in Serang Regency through an increase in professional and pedagogical competencies. This research was carried out in the Serang District 1 MTsN. The research methodology uses qualitative studies with a field research approach that attempts to research or make observations and jump directly in the field. Research on the development of teacher professionalism in Serang District 1 Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri is not only enough with theoretical studies but it needs direct research to the location studied, known as observation using a systematic approach. While the speakers who can be used as resource persons include the head of The Madrasa and all Madrasa teachers. Based on the results of the research the development of teacher professionalism through competency and pedagogical improvement can be done in a way, namely: First: Pedagogic Ability; Ability to Understand Students, Ability to Design Learning, Ability to Implement Learning Processes, Ability to Assess Processes and Results, and Ability to Develop Potential Students. Second: Professional Ability; can be described by the ability to master the field of study seen from the educational background of teachers who have academic qualifications and teaching teachers in accordance with their expertise and majors, and have the ability and understanding of students, the ability to master educational learning through the ability to understand the types of subjects, organizing the subjects and utilize learning resources.Keywords: teacher professionalism, professionalism, pedagogy, teacher performance
