Abstract

The development of the alphabet puppet media at Kartini Kindergarten was motivated by students who were still confused about differentiating between letters that had almost the same shape, such as the letters "b" and "d", "p" and "q" and also the letters "m" and "w". ”. The aim of this research is to develop a learning media to introduce early literacy to children aged 4-5 years. This research is research using the Research and Development (R&D) method by following the stages of the ADDIE development model which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The data collection instruments in this research used expert validation, interviews and trials on students. The research results from validation by media experts obtained a final percentage of 97.72%. The results of validation by material experts obtained a final percentage of 100%. Trials on students were carried out twice with 19 student respondents getting a percentage in stage I of 83.18%, and trials in stage II of 92.39%. So it can be concluded that the Alphabet Puppet Media Development that has been developed by researchers is "very feasible" and interesting to use in introducing early literacy to children aged 4-5 years.
