Abstract

Teaching materials are a supporting component in the learning process. This research was conducted using Research and Development approach, aiming to 1) analyze the needs of local content teaching materials regional languages, 2) design teaching material products in the form of animated videos for local content learning, 3) know the level of validity and practicality of the material products developed. This research uses Thiagarajan development model which is 4D (Define, Design, Development, Disseminate). This research was conducted at SDI Mattirowalie in Odd Semester 2020/2021 school year. The subjects of this study were grade IV students who numbered 16 students and 1 teacher of local content subjects selected by random sampling. Data collection using interview guidelines, needs identification questionnaires, validation questionnaires, and trial questionnaires. The data analysis method consists of qualitative descriptive analysis and descriptive static analysis. The conclusion of this study, the level of analysis of the needs of teaching materials is in the category needed, animated video teaching materials developed using Kinemaster Premium supported by the use of Photoshop, CorelDraw, and Adobeaudition duration of 3-4 minutes, materials about the local culture of traditional games and education of bugis tribal characters, the teaching materials developed are valid and practical.
