Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving rewards and punishments on class XI student achievement in Pendidikan Agama Islam ( PAI ) and Budi Pekerti subjects in SMAN 1 Leuwiliang , Bogor Regency. To trigger an increase in student achievement, rewards or rewards are needed for accomplishments achieved but on the contrary it also needs punishment for violations or omissions committed. The formulation of the problem in this study are: (1) reward giving has a significant effect on improving student achievement in SMA N 1 Leuwiliang; and (2) the provision of punishment has a significant effect on the improvement of student achievement in SMA 1 Leuwiliang . The basis of the theory that underlies this research is the school curriculum with a focus on reward, punishment and achievement. Researchers propose working or alternative hypotheses (Ha): (1) there is a positive and significant influence between giving rewards to students' learning achievement at SMAN 1 Leuwiliang ; and (2) There is a positive and significant influence between giving punishment to student learning achievement in SMA N 1 Leuwiliang . The analysis tool used is correlation test and regression analysis test. Research results show that: (1) reward has a positive and significant effect on student achievement; and (2) punishment has a positive and significant effect on student achievement .
