Abstract

The research objective is to find out the contribution of the school principle ability to achieve the school achievent or success. A leader must be able to motivate the teacher to be creative and improve the competence. This research studied the types leadership employed in educational organizations both transformational or transactional leadership in improving teacher learning and creativity. This research also used gender as a moderator. The quantitative approach with a population of 1,602 people from 56 High Schools in Pekanbaru has been applied in this research. Sampling method using stratified random sampling. Calculation of the number with N population developed by Krejcie and Morgan (1970) in Ferdinand (2006) is N (population) = 1.602 then n (sample) = 310 samples. In analyzing the data SPSS 22 software was mainly employed. But it has also been found that transformational leadership has greater impact in increasing the teacher orientation and creativity. The finding also reveals that female headmaster has better ability in handling the task. The general finding of this this study adds to the study of management literature on leadership styles especially in education. At last, the finding also reveal that women are better in than men in handling the education organization.
