Abstract

AbstrakKonsumsi alkohol berlebih mempengaruhi otot rangka dan jantung. Mekanisme senyawa kimia yangmempengaruhi kerusakan jantung berasal dari adduksi protein-aldehida, modifikasi partikel lipoprotein danapolipoprotein, akumulasi etil ester asam lemak, dan stres oksidatif, yang dapat memicu kelainan pada jaringanjantung. Bawang putih memiliki kandungan senyawa aktif berupa Allisin yang diduga dapat menurunkan kadarlemak dalam tubuh. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran histopatologi jantung tikus wistarsebelum dan sesudah pemberian etanol 50% dan ektrak bawang putih (Allium sativum). Metode penelitianeksperimen, dengan sample tikus wistar sebanyak 25 ekor yang terbagi ke dalam 5 kelompok perlakuan. K1,kelompok kontrol negatif, tikus hanya diberi akuadest, K2, kelompok kontrol positif, tikus diberi etanol 50% darihari ke-9-ke-14, K3, K4, dan K5 kelompok perlakuan dosis I,II dan III, setelah pemberian etanol 50% pada harike-9 – hari ke-14 dilanjutkan dengan pemberian ekstrak bawang putih dosis masing-masing 200 mg/g BB, 400mg/gr BB dan 600 mg/g BB, lalu semua tikus diambil organ jantung di hari ke-15 untuk diamati kondisijaringannya. Hasil penelitian menunujukkan bahwa pengamatan secara mikroskopik pada kelompok K1, K3, K4dan K5 tidak didapatkan sel lemak pada histopatologi jantung, sedangkan kelompok K2 didapatkan sel lemakpada sediaan histopatologi jantung. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah pemberian ekstrak bawang putih dapatmengurangi penumpukan sel lemak pada histopatologi jantung tikus wistar yang diinduksi etanol 50%.Kata kunci: Alkohol, tikus wistar, histopatologi jantungAbstractExcessive alcohol consumption affects skeletal and heart muscles. Garlic contains an active compound in the form of Allisin which is thought to reduce fat levels in thebody. The purpose of this study was to determine the histopathological description of the heart of wistar ratsbefore and after administration of 50% ethanol and garlic extract (Allium sativum). Experimental researchmethod, with a sample of 25 wistar rats which were divided into 5 treatment groups. K1, negative control group,rats were only given aquadest, K2, positive control group, rats were given 50% ethanol from 9-14 days, K3, K4and K5 treatment groups at doses I, II and III, after administration of 50 ethanol % on the 9th - 14th dayfollowed by administration of garlic extract at a dose of 200 mg/g BW, 400 mg/g BW and 600 mg/gr BW, then allrats were taken heart organ on the 15th day to observe the condition of the network. The results showed thatmicroscopic observations in groups K1, K3, K4 and K5 did not reveal fat cells in cardiac histopathology, whilein group K2 fat cells were found in cardiac histopathology preparations. The conclusion of this study is that theadministration of garlic extract can reduce the accumulation of fat cells in the heart histopathology of Wistarrats induced by 50% ethanol.Keywords: Alcohol, Wistar rat, histopathology of cardiac tissue
