Abstract
This research is related to the implementation of the independent curriculum in high schools that teach PAI subjects, especially in Yapis Jayapura. The research method is descriptive qualitative. The research object chosen was teachers teaching PAI subjects. Observations, documentation and interviews were carried out to collect data. The results obtained show that PAI has become a subject taught in schools under the Jayapura City Islamic Education Foundation in accordance with Law 20/2003 and PP/55 of 2007. The findings of this research show that the implementation of PAI learning in the independent curriculum is carried out by teachers in schools. have been done. Considering that the independent curriculum is the curriculum followed by schools under Yapis Jayapura where PAI subjects are included in the independent curriculum. The obstacles faced in implementing this subject are limited time, diverse understanding, complex material, and work evaluation. The obstacles encountered by the teacher were caused by two things. Learning is carried out by grouping children to discuss sub-sub-material, so that discussion of the material is more efficient and learning objectives can be achieved according to time. Apart from learning, by adding religious activities other than classroom learning time, involving students in competition activities that can increase religious knowledge such as MTQ, making PHBI at school.
