Abstract

The traditional house in Indonesia is the application of the concept of a house that is able to adapt to a tropical climate. This also applies to the Karampuang Traditional House which is located in Sinjai Regency, South Sulawesi Province. This research is a descriptive qualitative research that refers to solving tropical climate problems in traditional Karampuang houses in Sinjai Regency. The Karampuang traditional house is proof of the application of tropical architectural concepts to traditional buildings. Solving tropical climate problems is applied to the shape of the roof, the use of overstek, ventilation, columns, spacing rules, building orientation and the materials used.
