Abstract
Education is something that can not be separated from our daily lives. Not only in schools, education can also be found in around of our environment, such as in the family environment. The family is one of the institutions that play a role in character education in children, besides the school also play a role in moral character education. Development of mental health of children in Islamic education is contained in the form of planting values of monotheism and morals. With the value of faith, the child will become piety with his awareness of God is the origin and all purpose. The morality of God by mankind and worshiping Him is a logical consequence that must be realized by the child because of their faith. Individual and social acts make children able to form patterns of relationships and interpersonal, and communal environment in harmony. With the values of faith and moral values will form a personality character, virtuous, and intelligent emotional-ly all that is based on a transcendent value, namely God the Lord of the universe.
