Abstract

The sub-micron Temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza) powder has successfully been prepared by means of ultrasonic nebulizer spray dryer. From SEM images, the morphology of the powder is spherical throughout the preparation conditions. The yield of particle slightly decreases by lowering the operating temperature. In the other hand, there is no obvious yield trend on the variation of the feed concentration. The particle size become larger by raising the feed concentration. Meanwhile, there is no substantial change of particle size by varying the operating temperature.
