Abstract

Sabilunnajah Islamic Boarding School is a Islamic boarding school located in Watutulis village RT.01 RW.03 (Gg. Zamzam Amanah) Prambon, Sidoarjo Regency which has students ranging from junior high school to high school students. Based on the initial survey, information was obtained that unsavory student habits were often found in this Islamic boarding school, such as hanging clothes in the room, eating together in one container, piling up dirty clothes, putting shoes out of place and exchanging personal objects, such as combs, sarongs, clothes, trousers and towels, these are susceptible to the emergence of various diseases, especially infectious diseases. Diseases that often occur among students are skin diseases, for example scabies, and there are several other diseases such as boils, itching, tinea versicolor, athlete's foot, diarrhea, eye pain and others. The method of this community service activity is identifying the problems faced by Islamic boarding schools, carrying out interventions to increase the empowerment of students so that in the future they can create healthy Islamic boarding school conditions which include: a) Providing education about appropriate and effective ways to prevent infectious diseases, especially skin diseases, b) Carrying out education about the importance of PHBS and the importance of balanced nutritional intake for each individual student, c) Carrying out short education/training about empowering students in an effort to improve the health status of Islamic boarding school residents, d) Providing donations of basic health infrastructure such as first aid kits along with first aid medicines. Apart from that, it is hoped that students will experience an increase in understanding regarding appropriate and effective ways to prevent infectious diseases, especially skin diseases, increase understanding about the importance of PHBS and the importance of balanced nutritional intake for each individual student and increase understanding about empowering students in an effort to improve the health status of Islamic Boarding School residents.
