Abstract

This study discusses learning to analyze the structure of short stories. Curriculum 2013 there is a basic indicator that must be mastered by high school students is to analyze short story text in class XI semester 1. The problem raised is whether the short story text of Mother Going to the Sea is suitable to be used in learning to analyze the structure of short stories in the 2013 curriculum in high school? The purpose of writing is to find out the short story text suitable for use in learning to analyze short story texts in high school. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The data in the study were analyzed by technique in the form of analyzing only the short story textual structure in the story. Sturktur from short story text is Abstraction, Orientation, Complication, Evaluation, Resolution, and Koda. The results obtained abstraction structure, orientation, complication, evaluation, resolution, and koda found on short story Mother Go To Sea. Thus, the story is suitable for learning in analyzing short story text in the 2013 curriculum in high school.
