Abstract

This study aims to observe the application of the Autonomous Learning model with Duolingo media for listening skills in German lessons. In addition, this research will also focus on investigating the impact of such learning on students' interest and independence in learning. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The data in this study were obtained from observations of the learning process and the results of students’ interviews. This study will collect data from online and asynchronous learning in class X IPS 2 SMAN 6 Malang. This study took the data during German language lessons in two meetings with listening skills learning. The results showed that the Autonomous Learning model with Duolingo media made students enthusiastic in learning German. Students’ responses to the Autonomous Learning model with Duolingo media were positive. Students can determine their own way of learning so that it is easier to understand the material.
