Abstract

This article aims to improve the science literacy skills of students of class XII IPA MAN 4 Pesisir Selatan through testing the content of chemical compounds contained in the sambiloto plant (Andrographis paniculata). Students of class XII IPA MAN 4 Pesisir Selatan are expected to improve science literacy skills by processing information related to the sambiloto plant into a scientific fact. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method with experimental research type. Qualitative experimental data were obtained from the results of the author's experiments for approximately two months in the science laboratory of MAN 4 Pesisir Selatan. The data analysis technique in this study is to see how the flavonoid compounds contained in sambiloto leaves are believed to have a good impact on the human body and testing the science literacy skills of XII science students of MAN 4 Pesisir Selatan. Based on the research that has been done, it is proven that the science literacy skills of students in class XII IPA MAN 4 Pesisir Selatan increased by 83.3% with a good category. So it can be concluded that the research conducted can improve the science literacy skills of students of class XII IPA MAN 4 Pesisir Selatan.
