Abstract

AbstractCesar Pelli is best known for dramatic skyscrapers, like the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, and big urban complexes with vast glazed interior spaces, like Canary Wharf and the World Financial Center in Battery Park City. But his renamed firm, Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, is now doing major hospitals and research centres, museums and concert halls, apartment houses, numerous college buildings ‐ even airports. Jayne Merkel explains how he learnt to do memorable work of considerable complexity as she describes what Pelli Clarke Pelli is doing around the world. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
