Abstract

ABSTRACTCatfish is one of the fisheries commodities that has increased in production due to increased market demand. The demand for catfish production in the city of Tarakan has also increased. Increased market demand, encouraging efforts in catfish production. One of the keys to the success of catfish production is in spawning, because catfish spawning occurs seasonally. To overcome the availability of catfish seeds, there must be an alternative reproductive technology for catfish spawning so that it can occur throughout the year. Spawning engineering technology can be done by injection mating using hormones and improving feed quality. Spawning is carried out by catfish cultivators (partners) in Tarakan City using natural (conventional) spawning methods. As a result of this activity, partners have been able to make feed by adding turmeric flour and partners have also been able to do artificial spawning of catfish using the hormone ovaprim. The next activity is to do spawning and calculate the profit from the results of the activity. It is hoped that the training that will be carried out in the Juata Pebble sub-district with the "Empagon 415" group will be the first step to increase catfish seed production in the KTT district throughout the year.
