Abstract
Government policies in converting energy use from kerosene to LPG have encouraged many people to use LPG gas stoves as fuel for stoves used. Although LPG gas stoves have more practical advantages than using kerosene stoves, they still have disadvantages, namely the danger they cause if there is a gas leak that results in an explosion and causes fires and even casualties. To prevent these fires, it is necessary to detect LPG gas leaks, especially in industries and households. From this, an idea was implemented to provide training in the manufacture of gas leak detection devices. Such is the rationale used in the Training of Making LPG Gas Detection Devices in Households for High School Students in Dukuh Kadisoka, Sleman. Hopefully these activities are beneficial, and can prevent fires caused by LPG gas leakage. This activity was held in June 2018 in Kadisoka hamlet. Summary
Salah satu jenis bencana non alam adalah kebakaran. Setelah tahun 2010, jumlah kasus kebakaran akibat kebocoran gas elpiji juga meningkat dibandingkan dengan tahun-tahun sebelumnya. Salah satu wilayah yang sering terjadi bencana tersebut ialah Kabupaten Sleman, Provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Berikut merupakan beberapa contoh bencana kebakaran yang terjadi di Kabupaten Sleman. Salah satu rumah warga Dukuh Susukan III RT 02 RW 06, Margokaton, Seyegan, terbakar pada Rabu (15/11/2017). Kerugian yang dialami berupa beberapa alat dapur, lemari, mesin cuci, dan kompor gas yang hangus terbakar. Api juga membakar hangus dan merobohkan atap rumah korban (POLRI, 2017). Salah satu masalah yang kerap terjadi adalah kebocoran dan ledakan gas elpiji. Sebagai salah satu usaha mengurangi kebocoran dan ledakan gas (BPPT, 2010) menawarkan detector gas elpiji. Kegiatan ini disambut positif oleh warga dan terdapat harapan akan dilakukannya kegiatan ini secara lebih luas
